1. About this notice
This notice is given by Samantha J Consulting (ABN 98 663 934 968), a business registered in Australia at Forest Glen QLD 4556. It sets out how we collect, use, hold, disclose and protect personal information when you use the The Illuminator Movement website and client portal.
We handle personal information in line with the Australian Privacy Principles in the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the Spam Act 2003 (Cth) as our standard of practice. Our privacy contact is info@samanthabrunskill.com.
2. Information we collect
From you. Creating an account collects your name and email address and a password, or the profile shared by a supported sign-in provider such as Google. Client records can also include a phone number, programme purchases, payment references and portal access status.
Programme applications collect contact details and the answers you submit about your business and goals. Prayer and praise forms collect contact details and the message you choose to share. The Impact Standard scorecard collects your name, email address, questionnaire answers and scores across Purpose, Profit and Philanthropy.
Automatically. Sign-in uses browser storage to keep you signed in and to remember where to return after sign-in. Please avoid including other people’s personal information, or details you would rather not share, in anything you submit.
3. Why we collect and hold it
We use your information to create and secure your account, associate payments with the correct client, provide access to the programmes you have purchased, respond to applications, prayer requests and enquiries, and produce your Impact Standard assessment.
We may also use your contact details to send you updates about programmes, teaching or events. Marketing emails are sent with your consent, identify who they come from, and include a way to unsubscribe. You can ask us to stop at any time and we will action it without charge.
4. Sensitive information
A prayer or praise request may reveal beliefs or personal circumstances. We collect that information with your consent, only because you have chosen to send it to us, and we handle it as confidential. We do not use prayer or praise messages for marketing, and we do not publish them without your separate permission.
5. Payments and connected services
Checkout payments are processed by Stripe. We receive payment references and payment-plan status, but card numbers are handled by Stripe — see Stripe’s privacy notice for how they process that information.
Our website, database and file storage are provided by our hosting platform. Google sign-in, embedded YouTube videos, WhatsApp links and our email provider may connect you with those services, each under its own privacy notice. We do not control how those providers use information they collect directly from you.
6. Who we disclose information to
We do not sell personal information. We disclose it only to the service providers who help us operate (payment processing, hosting, storage, email delivery and customer support), to our professional advisers such as our accountant under a duty of confidence, and where we are required or authorised by law, including in response to a lawful request from an authority.
Some of these providers store information outside Australia. Before we use a provider, we take reasonable steps to satisfy ourselves that it will handle your information appropriately, and we remain accountable for that handling under the Australian Privacy Principles.
7. Access within the business
Access to personal information is limited to the people who need it to do the work — responding to a request, delivering a programme or keeping the platform running. Anyone with access is expected to keep the information confidential and to use it only for the purpose it was collected for. Course videos, worksheets and other client materials sit in private storage that is not open to the public.
8. Data security
We take reasonable steps to protect personal information, including encrypted connections across the site, access controls on the database and admin area, private storage for course materials, and passwords that are stored in a protected form rather than as plain text. No system can be guaranteed completely secure, so we tell you plainly that we do not promise an absolute guarantee — and we ask you to keep your account details private and tell us immediately if you believe your account has been accessed without permission.
9. How long we keep it
Account details are kept while your account is open and while you remain enrolled. Purchase and payment records are kept for at least 5 years because tax and accounting rules require us to hold them. Programme applications are kept for up to 12 months after a decision, so we can follow up with you, and are then deleted. Prayer and praise messages are kept only as long as needed to respond, and are deleted sooner if you ask. Impact Standard responses are kept until you ask us to delete them. Marketing consent is kept until you withdraw it.
10. Access, correction and deletion
You can ask to see the personal information we hold about you, ask us to correct anything you believe is inaccurate or out of date, or ask us to delete it. Email info@samanthabrunskill.com. We aim to acknowledge your request within 7 working days and to respond within 30 days.
We may need to verify your identity before releasing information, and we will not charge you for making a request. If we cannot give you access or delete something, we will explain why — for example where tax law requires us to keep a purchase record, or where a backup copy has not yet been overwritten.
11. Suspected data breaches
If we suspect an eligible data breach — that personal information has been accessed or disclosed without authorisation, or is likely to cause you serious harm — we will assess it promptly. Where our obligations under the notifiable data breach scheme in the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) are triggered, we will notify the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner and the individuals affected.
12. Complaints
If you believe we have mishandled your information, contact us at info@samanthabrunskill.com and we will investigate and respond. If you are not satisfied with our answer, you may raise the matter with the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (oaic.gov.au).
13. Cookies and browser storage
This site does not place advertising or social-media tracking cookies of its own. Sign-in uses browser storage so your session works; clearing it will sign you out. The biblical action-plan tool builds your plan inside your browser, and the reflections you type there are not submitted to us through that tool.
14. Related information
See the Terms and Conditions for programme, pricing and payment-plan information. We may update this notice as our services or the law change; the approved date shown at the top of this page tells you when it last changed.
